Fabric Altered Scrapbook Class
Altered Scrapbooks are the perfect place to honor a real or adopted relative. Bring photos of someone you know – or wish you knew. Honor their memory, or create a story as you create the book. Focusing on incorporating fabric in your altered scrapbook provides lots of opportunities for fabric pockets, fabric backgrounds, fabric embellishments, and hand stitched accents. Once you start merging your love of textiles with your passion for altering books, you’ll never see things the same way again!

Canvas Journal Pages Class
Canvas Journal Pages are a wonderful surface for self-expression; the perfect mixed media opportunity. We’ll start by painting a background color or colors on canvas. We’ll layer text, collage with paper, make marks, add metal fragments, whatever reflects your mood while you are working. Continue to work in this format on a regular basis. You can then choose to bind the pages together, mount them individually for the wall, make a fabric envelope for them, or adhere them into a large sketchbook; the choice is yours.

Fabric Tag Book With Transfers Class
Sometimes you just have to allow yourself to play. No expectations, no goals, no pressure, just pure playtime. I think it’s important to give ourselves this special time, which can help to remind us not to take ourselves too seriously. This is a perfect opportunity to enjoy Play day. The Fabric Tag book is a great format to use as a “sample” book of different transfer techniques and how they work on different types of fabric.

Don’t worry about having everything you own with you on class day. One of the coolest things about this project is that you can add more stuff to it at any time. On you next play day at home, you can add more pages to your tag book. This is a great format to encourage you to experiment with new techniques as you learn about them.

Courthouse Blues
The Courthouse Steps layout of the Log Cabin block is an old version that many of us have loved for a long time. We’re going to make this easy version by focusing on 2 main fabrics that you love together. Come to this fun, no anxiety class and get a great start on your personal version. Once you’ve made one, you’ll want to go home and sort your fabrics so you can start on a scrappy version. Wait, we’ve got to make the first one first!

Log Cabin Flowers
This original block was designed to introduce quilters to one of the many possible variations of the Log Cabin block, positioning fabrics to illustrate flowers and leaves. The block size is 9” finished, lending itself to countless layout designs. This block will be pieced with no templates, and no cutting of triangles! Piece enough flowers for a wall hanging, or start a bed sized quilt. These flowers are very fun and simple to piece using the quick piecing methods demonstrated in class. Depending on your fabric selection, this pattern can look traditional or contemporary. Works as either a 3 or 6 hour class. Machine sewing project, suitable for all experience levels.

Quilters Strip Tease
Are you surrounded by leftover strips of fabric from previous projects? Does the pile next to your cutting table continue to grow & tease you to do something with it? Do you love scrap quilts, but are not sure how to get started on one? Do you enjoy using lots of different fabrics in a quilt? Then this class is definitely for you! Bring lots of cut strips of fabric to class, the same width or random widths, straight or crooked, or wait until class to decide what to cut! Trade with your neighbor, or keep to just a few fabrics. Pretty much anything will work here! Choose one of several strippy quilt options shown in class to make a small quilt or get started on a larger project. The possibilities are vast & exciting - don’t let your stash scare you anymore - show your fabrics you are the boss!

Playing With A Full Deck
Let's Play Cards!

This class can be fabric focused or primarily mixed media. Make fabric "cards" with sewn embellishments or concentrate on mixed media cards; incorporate paper, fabric, metal, embellishments, tape, etc. Of course many of these items can also be added to fabric bases.

The fun of this class is the opportunity to Play. Play with texture, layering, color, paint, fabric, found objects, different media, etc. Work in a series or not - the choice is up to you.

What I really love about working in this format is the lack of performance pressure. You don't have to decide on the perfect placement or the perfect combination of items. Work quickly, decide which version looks good in that moment, complete it and try another combination on your next card.

Don't miss this wonderful opportunity to loosen up, see lots of "what ifs" and create small works. Allow yourself the chance to explore and experiment. When you decide you're done, you'll have a personal deck of cards.

Construction 101
You won't want miss this class. Create a house, school, or other special building for your wall.

Use metal, fabric, paper, buttons, paint or just about anything else during construction. Challenge yourself to include building materials (different mediums) you've never used before.

Lots of options and construction techniques will be shared, and you should be able to complete your building during the class. Of course, you can always add more hardware or embellishments after you get back home.

You'll be able to claim the title of Contractor without ever having to learn to use a nail gun!

Note: a variety of rooflines for the buildings will be available during class - you'll choose one that works for your structure.
